This SLO County farmers market is the best in California, nutrition site says

A popular San Luis Obispo County farmers market is the best in the state of California, according to the nutrition website Eat This, Not That!

The website ranked the Downtown SLO Farmers’ Market, which attracts droves of shoppers and diners to San Luis Obispo on Thursday nights, among the nation’s best.

Eat This, Not That! selected one farmers’ market in each U.S. state, picking events “that not only sell fantastic fall goodies but also excel when it comes to serving as community gathering spaces.”

“Farmers’ markets are spectacular places to shop year-round,” the site said in a Oct. 20 article.

Eat This, Not That! said the Downtown SLO Farmers’ Market, open year round, is “known for its charred meats and veggies served hot off the grill” in addition to fresh produce.

The website, inspired by the The New York Times best-selling book series, “Eat This, Not That!,” advertises itself as “the leading authority in food, nutrition and health.”

EatThis.com currently reaches more than 110 million annual users, and Eat This, Not That! books have sold 8 million copies, according to the site.
