SLO County’s newest Chipotle to open next week — complete with a ‘Chipotlane’

Chipotle is opening its fourth San Luis Obispo County location next week, and it comes with something none of the chain’s three other local restaurants can offer.

The fast-food Mexican restaurant in Atascadero will be the first Chipotle in the county to feature a so-called “Chipotlane,” a drive-thru pick-up lane for digital orders, according to a news release from Chipotle.

The restaurant will open its doors for the first time on Tuesday.

Chipotle is hiring crew members to staff the Atascadero location with a pay range of $16-17 per hour, according to the Chipotle careers page.

The restaurant offers competitive benefits that include a debt-free college education program; medical, dental and vision insurance; paid time off; and free food, the career page said.

The restaurant is taking over the space previously occupied by the county’s last A&W, which closed in February 2022, at 6435 Morro Road in Atascadero. It will be open daily from 10:45 a.m. to 10 p.m.
