Slovenian ski jumper Nika Prevc won the first event of the women's Two Nights Tour in Germany's Garmisch-Partenkirchen on Saturday.

Prevc, who claimed her first-ever World Cup win earlier this month in Switzerland, jumped 133 and 130 metres for a total of 267.4 points.

Norway's Eirin Maria Kvandal was second, 12.9 points behind Prevc, while Abigail Strate of Canada completed the podium in third.

World Cup leader Joséphine Pagnier was seventh, while defending champion Eva Pinkelnig was fourth.

The female ski jumpers are competing in the so-called Two Nights Tour for the first time as they attempt to push for the introduction of a Four Hills Tournament for women for years.

With the Two Nights Tour, they get at least two of the four usual stops - Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Oberstdorf - in the Four Hills Tournament.

Unlike the men, however, the women still won't have World Cup competitions in Innsbruck and Bischofshofen at the turn of the year.

The event in Oberstdorf is to take place on January 1, 2024.
