We all know how crazy things get during the holiday season.

Cafe Arnone in Fairlawn is a great place to keep in mind if you happen to need a quick respite from shopping at the mall, rigging up the lights and decking the halls. A fresh Neapolitan-style pizza and a good glass of wine is the perfect way to calm the holiday Grinch in all of us.

The smell of freshly baked dough is always a comforting scent, and the pizza dough at Cafe Arnone is some of the best in the area. "There are only four ingredients in pizza dough," explained co-owner Rocco LaRose. "We want to make sure we use the highest quality ingredients."

Imported Caputo double-zero flour from Naples, Italy, is one reason that the dough is light and heavenly.

It's a wonderful life after a few slices of Cafe Arnone's new fig and prosciutto pie. This $16 pizza comes with crumbled goat cheese, fig slices, crispy prosciutto, cubed apple slices, caramelized onions, arugula and a drizzle of honey.

LaRose was happy to recommend a $11.99 bottle of Nero d’Avola that really accentuated the flavor of the fig slices. This bottle from Petraio, Italy, has rich, red raspberry and subtle plum flavors.

The price of the wine is the same whether you enjoy it at the cozy 2480 W. Market St. location or take it to go. The latter option allows you to finish your shopping online at home, away from the madness of Montrose traffic, with a nice glass of wine from Sicily in hand.
