A single-engine Cessna 172 plane made a forced landing on a deserted strip of the Dania Beach shoreline on Tuesday afternoon, authorities said.

Only the pilot was on board the plane, according to the Federal Aviation Administration. The unidentified pilot was not injured in the emergency landing.

The plane touched down on an empty stretch of sand at Dr. Von D. Mizell-Eula Johnson State Park, just north of the Dania Beach Pier.

Broward Sheriff’s Fire Rescue determined there were no injuries on the ground and the plane was intact.
