"Well… we have some news!! My birthday last week became more than a celebration of another trip around the sun… it became a celebration of our forever!!!!!!! 💍 🥹 🥂There is no one I’d rather do life with. I love you @adamcoates4 Thank you for choosing me for keeps," Vandervoort wrote.

"What an incredible day & after we were met with 30 friends and family back at home. I don’t know how you got it all by me (seriously, how did you plan it all without me even noticing!?) but it was perfect."

She continued: "Thank you friends and family who somehow kept it under wraps and made for such a beautiful home coming. I was definitely overwhelmed by the amount of love thrown at us. Balloons, candles, food, cake, flowers and lots of hugs."

Several of Vandervoort's celebrity pals posted comments of congratulations, including Michael Rosenbaum, Tanya Kim, and Sydney Ozerov-Meyer.

Vandervoort starred as Kara Zor-El, AKA Supergirl, in 23 episodes of Smallville from 2007 until 2011. However, in 2020, she explained that she wished that her character had a different ending to the one she was given in the show.

"I have said publicly before that I wish Kara was in more of the finale, at the wedding... she didn't really have closure," Vandervoort said.

"She just sort of flew off and we never saw her again. It would have been nice for myself personally and I think for the character to have goodbyes. I didn't have any proper goodbyes."
