SME announces 2023 Rising in Excellence nominees for Leadership Summit
Ten Rising in Excellence nominees were announced for the 2023 Sioux Falls Leadership Summit, which will take place June 27.
The Rising in Excellence award recognizes members of Sales and Marketing Executives, Inc. (SME) in their contribution to the South Dakota business community.

The 2023 nominees are:
Andrea Carstensen, Minnwest Bank
Olivia Essig, Sioux Empire United Way
Lexie Feterl, Boys & Girls Clubs of the Sioux Empire
Dana Fisher, Fisher & Co Real Estate
Melissa Heckel, Branch Creative Co.
Jamie Hegge, Lawrence & Schiller
Katie Herrmann, Profile Plan
Nichelle Lund, Holiday Inn City Centre
Janean Michalov, Furniture Mission
Ronnie Stovall, Vern Eide Motorcars
Tom Van Wyhe, former owner of JSI Trane, will also receive the South Dakota Sales and Marketing Executive of the Year award at the summit.
The Sioux Falls Leadership Summit will feature keynote speaker Jon Acuff as part of the day's events. Acuff is the bestselling author of eight books, the most recent being "Soundtracks, The Surprising Solution to Overthinking." A leadership discussion will follow his one-hour keynote.
South Dakota native Holly Hoffman will also speak during the Summit. In addition to being a motivational speaker and author, Hoffman was the last remaining member of the Espada Tribe and the last woman standing on Season 21 of the reality show "Survivor Nicaragua."
The event starts at 1 p.m. at the Sioux Falls Convention Center with doors opening at noon.
SME members can purchase tickets for $55. Individual tickets for the public are $99, and a reserved table for 10 people is $1,200. Tickets can be purchased online.
