'Is That Will Smith?' Chris Rock Jokes With Chappelle After Comedian Attacked

A man attacked Dave Chappelle on stage during a performance at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles late on May 3.

Footage recorded by TikTok user rebhorn shows the moment the comedian was attacked, and security swarming the stage. The video then shows Chris Rock joining Chappelle on stage, grabbing the microphone and asking, “Is that Will Smith?”

Local media cited police as saying the suspect, 23-year-old Isaiah Lee, had a replica gun containing a hidden blade. Other video taken later that night showed a man being loaded into an ambulance outside the venue.

Videos later showed an unharmed Chappelle continuing the show. The LAPD said Lee was arrested at 10.50 pm for Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Credit: @rebhorn via Storyful
