Will Smith confirms ‘Fresh Prince’ reboot heading to Peacock

"The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” is coming back — in a much grittier form than the 1990s sitcom.

The dramatic reboot, dubbed “Bel Air," is heading to NBC streamer Peacock with a two-season order, the original NBC series' star Will Smith announced Tuesday on his YouTube channel.

The series, slated to premiere next year, is set in the present day and is based on Morgan Cooper’s viral video which reimagined the classic comedy as a drama and has garnered more than 5 million views just on YouTube.

In Tuesday’s video, Smith appeared on a virtual chat with Cooper, and co-executive producer Chris Collins.
