Smith County Habitat to dedicate home to family in Troup

Sep. 21—The community is invited to join Habitat for Humanity of Smith County and Brookshire Grocery Company at their upcoming home dedication in Troup. The event will take place from 3 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26, at 1003 E Bryant Street, in Troup.

During this event, attendees will hear about the mission of Habitat and their services and also have the opportunity to meet and learn more about the new Habitat homeowners, the Taylor Family.

The construction of Smith County Habitat's 120th home was sponsored by Brookshire Grocery Company and built in memory of Henry Bockus. The land was donated by the Troup Community Development Corporation. Groundbreaking for this home occurred Feb. 15 of this year. This home is being sold to a first-time homebuyer and family with a 30-year, no-interest mortgage held by HFHSC.

The Smith County Habitat affiliate is dedicated to providing safe, healthy and affordable housing for Smith County neighbors.
