Here are the top stories today in Smithtown:

  1. Smithtown: 2 homes for sale. The Patch provides you with a sampling of the latest batch of houses to go up for sale in and near Smithtown — such as one with 3 beds and 2 baths for $549,999, and another with 3 beds and 1.5 baths for $539,000. (Smithtown Patch)

  2. If you watch the Bravo reality show, "Vanderpump Rules," then you know the star of the show, Tom Sandoval. He is coming to Smithtown to perform with his cover band, "Tom Sandoval & The Most Extra," a spokesman for Sandoval announced. The band plays songs from the '70s, '80s & '90s. Sandoval's group is set to play at Napper Tandy's on 15 E. Main St., Smithtown, at 7 p.m. on March 10. General tickets are $25, while VIP tickets are $100, the event information states. Click here if you would like to buy tickets to Sandoval's show. (Smithtown Patch)

  3. Sorry White Castle food lovers, no annual Valentine's Day event this year due to the pandemic. But wait, this is not 2020, we're two years into this and White Castle is still holding out? "The burger chain's restaurants has held a special dine-in experience on Feb. 14 for years with a romantic touch. The chain transforms restaurants into "fine dining" experiences, with reservations, hostess seating, tableside service, and plenty of festive décor," reported News 12. (News 12)

  4. Does it feel like you are paying more for everything lately? Well, you are, actually 5.1 percent over the same time last year, according to reports from the federal government. Nationally, the consumer price index, which measures the cost of core goods, climbed 7.5 percent in January over the year before, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported. We all feel the pain of increases in the costs of gas, food, autos and furniture. In December, economists at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School estimated that the average household had to spend $3,500 more than in 2020 to buy an identical basket of goods and services. Is there no end in sight? (Patch)
