The Mosquito Fire burning in Placer County, California, grew to 13,704 acres on September 8, according to fire authorities.

Footage by Dee Phillips shows smoke from the wildfire filling the sky near Lake Tahoe, partially obscuring a glowing red sun.

The Placer County sheriff’s office issued fresh evacuation orders and road closures for the Todd Valley on Thursday, while health officials issued an air quality advisory through Friday due to potentially poor air quality conditions from smoke from the fire. Credit: Dee Phillips via Storyful
