Smoke Rises From Wildfire Burning Near Rapid City

South Dakota Gov Kristi Noem joined the state’s National Guard to survey the site of the Schroeder Fire burning west of Rapid City on Tuesday, March 30.

Footage shared on the governor’s Twitter account shows the scene from overhead in the Black Hills.

Officials said there was an “intense structure fire” overnight March 29 into March 30, resulting in the loss of one home.
