Smoke Shrouds Southern California Landscape as Fairview Fire Grows Beyond 27,000 Acres

Wildfire smoke blew across parts of Southern California as efforts to contain the Fairview fire, the state’s largest of the year, continued on Friday, September 9, officials said.

This footage was captured by Twitter user @philoso_free, who said it was recorded from Simpson Park in Hemet on Thursday afternoon.

By Friday morning, the Fairview fire burned 27,463 acres (42.9 square miles) and was 5 percent contained, according to official fire reports.
