Sturgis Middle School cross country girls win at Centreville Invitational

The Sturgis Middle School girls took home first place at the Centreville Invitational this past Saturday.

The Trojans scored 40 points to win the title. Coldwater Legg finished second with 51 and Kalamazoo Homeschool was third with 55.

Centreville finished sixth with 105, Constantine was seventh with 125.

Sturgis had a pair of Top 10 finishes. Eleanor Park ran a time of 13:52 to finish fourth overall, Madelyn Oswald completed the course in seventh at 14:16.

Ally Farber was 15th (14:59), Graycee Cloutier was 16th (15:00), Lulu Park was 24th (15:17) and Olivia Green finished 29th (15:39). Also running for Sturgis was Claire Propst in 56th with a time of 17:11, Raydin Spence in 73rd at 18:14, Maddie Roberts in 82nd with a time of 18:58, Siana Arreola in 98th at 21:46 and Brooklyn Draper in 102nd overall at 22:31.

Kate Hulin led Centreville with a time of 15:00 to place 17th. Brooklyn Marshall was 22nd overall at 15:10 and Hailey Schabes finished 34th with a time of 16:10. Avaline Blum took home 37th (16:20), Marissa Bowyer was 48th (16:55), Hazel Sloat finished 54th at 17:08.

Leading Constantine was Morgan Niblock, she posted a time of 13:51 to finish third overall.

Anastasia Thelen came in 36th position with a time of 16:13, Anna Davidhizar was 44th overall at 16:52 and Everlee Carpenter came in 49th overall at 16:57. Madelyn Hayes finished 58th (17:17) and Abigail Robinson was 60th at 17:24.

Taylie Burgess ran a time of 14:30 for Colon, good for 10th overall. Caitlin Kanauss came in 104th with a time of 23:39, Aaliyah Edwards was 105th at 28:52.

Kalamazoo Homeschool won the boys’ race with 18. Union City came in second with 40, Sturgis was third with 46 and Centreville finished fourth with 57. Constantine was 10th overall at 178, Colon came in 11th position with 188 points.

Carter Oswald led Sturgis, taking third place overall at 12:35. Caleb Hohn finished 12th with a time of 13:22 and Micaiah Arreola was 15th with a time of 13:27. Also running for Sturgis was Cooper Barkby in 19th (13:44), Drew Holtz in 20th (13:45), Simon Phillips in 22nd (13:51), Anthony Park in 30th (14:10) and Seth Larimer in 32nd overall at 14:12.

Henry Ebert posted a time of 14:14 for 33rd, Brody Currier ran a time of 14:19 for 34th and Easton Barkby came in 37th at 14:30. Tyler Veasy ran a time of 14:50 for 42nd, Cooper Hohn was 48th overall at 15:05, Jay Hatt finished 64th at 15:57, Ash Staffen was 68th at 16:07 and Jonathan Sturwold finished with a time of 18:20 for 85th.

Quade Gardner led Constantine in 35th overall at 14:27, Pierce Gardner finished 53rd at 15:17. Matthew James came in 84th (18:18), Aydin Weinberg was 91st (19:02), Armando Ortiz was 94th (19:37), Dillon Burgess ran a time of 20:03 for 95th and Jeremy Nieman came in 106th at 27:09.

Colon’s Max Fellars was 55th at 15:28, Bernard Reilley came in 63rd at 15:49. Oliver Bohanon finished 77th at 17:08, Grant Bohanon was 81st at 17:39, Mason Trattles finished 101st at 21:58 and Evan Stabler was 102nd at 22:16.

Oliver Mildenberg finished sixth overall for Centreville. He had a time of 12:52. Max Reed finished 16th at 13:30 and Bryce Hekter was 17th at 13:40. Will Swanwick ran a time of 13:47 for 21st, Alexander Meese was 26th at 13:59 and Drew Swanwick finished 27th with a time of 14:02.
