SMSO performs holiday concert with music director finalist

BENTON HARBOR — The Southwest Michigan Symphony Orchestra performs at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 11 at Lake Michigan College’s Mendel Center, 2755 E. Napier Ave.

Led by music director finalist Rachel Waddell, the orchestra will be joined by local talent, including vocalist and songwriter Jenna Mammina, Superintendent of Benton Harbor Area Schools Andraé Townsel, Southwest Michigan Symphony Chorus and Studio Dance Theatre.

The program includes Christmas and holiday favorites that capture the fun, joy and spirit of the season, including such pieces as “Winter Wonderland,” selections from “The Nutcracker Suite,” music from “Frozen” and a Christmas singalong.
