Snapchat's new bold logo sparks frustration – and Twitter has jokes
People hate even the simplest of changes, especially when it’s a brand or logo that’s been fairly consistent over time.
Snapchat updated their logo last week, making the outline of its signature ghost, “Chillah,” a little bolder and more defined against the yellow background.
No big deal, right?
As they say, it's a thin line between love and hate. And the company's shift to a thicker line has brought out many "irrationally upset" Snapchat users to lament the change on Twitter.

Some found the change unnerving.

Users are complaining the new logo doesn’t vibe with the aesthetic of the other apps on their phone, and iPhone users are saying the change looks more like an Android design.

(The Android version on phones in the newsroom didn't appear to have changed.)
Oh my god that snapchat logo I can’t get over it why’s it so childish like it looks like an android logo against all my other apps

While some people find it annoying or bothersome, others are downright burdened by the change.

Of course, some people have decided to express their frustration with the app change through humor. You can always count on Twitter to have jokes.

Some folks were mocking the ghost's dimensions.

It is unclear why the logo changed – the iOS app store says the update was for “bug fixes and improvements,” but makes no mention of the logo.
However, not everyone has a negative outlook on the change.

So far, it seems Chillah's new thick skin has it shrugging off the drama.
If you’re having flashbacks to when Instagram updated their app late last year and everyone freaked out, we're right there with you. But even with the worst changes, people seem to move on quickly and get used to it just in time for a new change to be made and the cycle to repeat.
Let Madeline Purdue know how you feel about the new Snapchat logo.
