A sneaker store just opened in Miami’s Design District, and it’s Roger Federer approved

Miami fitness fans have a new temple in which to worship: The On Store just opened in the Design District.
The Swiss sportswear brand, endorsed by tennis great Roger Federer, is a must-stop for not just runners and fitness freaks, but all folks who want to up their cardio in style.
“Miami connects performance and design like no other city in the world, and blending those two things is core to On’s DNA,” said co CEO/CFO Martin Hoffmann. “Our new store will help us create more intimate touchpoints with our athletes and fans, taking their experience with our footwear and apparel to new levels.”
The 3,229 square foot sleek space is a destination in and of itself. The centerpiece is likely the so-called Magic Wall that allows you to virtually try on dozens of styles with a motion-sensing camera, and eliminates the clutter of not so glamorous cardboard boxes everywhere.
Nope. On’s Instagram-ready decor won’t remind you of say, your local Foot Locker or Dick’s. Beside the high tech wall, there’s also a cool boulder sculpture smack in the middle of the place. Reason? The hand hammered metal piece, designed by sustainability focused Spanish artist Lucas Muñoz Muñoz, is meant to transport you to the Swiss Alps even when it’s 92 degrees out.
Since its founding in 2010, On has become one of the fastest growing sportswear brands on the planet. It doesn’t hurt that Federer is the face of the company and even has designer credits, with his very own high-performance shoe, starting at $149.
The Grand Slam champ became intrigued a few years ago when he realized that in his native country that On was, well, in.
“They were impossible to ignore because everyone had them,” he told the New York Times in 2019 of the coveted kicks. “People on the street, my friends, my wife.”
