The confirmed start of the liberation of Snihurivka was announced on Nov. 9.

The first video of the Ukrainian military in the village appeared the next day, during the afternoon of Nov. 10..

"Today, on Nov. 10, 2022, the settlement of Snihurivka was liberated by the forces of the 131st separate reconnaissance battalion," a serviceman can be heard saying in the video.

The settlement’s liberation paves the way for the further liberation of Kherson city itself, as the village is a key strategic settlement that serves as a convenient bridgehead on the banks of the Inhulets River. It is also an important railway junction.

Snihurivka had been under the control of the Russian invaders since March 2022. To hold the settlement, the Russian Armed Forces deployed significant forces there and strengthened the defense with fortifications.
