Come visit Lower Bucks County this weekend when four of the county's oldest communities will host fall festivals.

Other events fill out the rest of the month with seasonal fun.

Historic Fallsington Day

Fallsington will host its 70th annual Historic Fallsington Day from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, featuring Native American dancers, music, a puppet show, and demonstrations of wool spinning into yard and yarn dyeing as well as historic food preparation techniques used by Native Americans and early colonisits.

"We’re excited to have new and returning vendors, history interpreters, and community partners join us as we celebrate our 70th anniversary," states the Historic Fallsington website.

Yardley's Harvest Day

Yardley will hold its 55th annual Harvest Day featuring dozens of vendors, food trucks and business representatives from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. The event was planned for late September but had to be rescheduled due to the weather. Activities for children include a magician and petting zoo on South Bell Avenue, according to the Harvest Day website. Limited parking is available at several locations in the borough and at Macclesfield Park in Lower Makefield, which is a four block walk along the Delaware Canal Towpath to the borough. Fall Festival in Bristol Township

Bristol Township's event in late September also was rescheduled for 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Municipal Park, 2501 Bath Road and will feature 70 vendors, six food trucks, and beer trucks from Second Sin Brewing and Sandy's Beef & Ale, as well as plenty of family-friendly activities including face painting and hayrides, said township Parks and Recreation Director Brian Morris.

Get 'Groovin' at the Gates' in Middletown

And check out Middletown Township's Groovin' at the Gates event in Forsythia Crossing Park in Levittown. The event runs noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and features food trucks, beer gardens, inflatable attractions and vendors. Offsite parking will be provided at three locations in Middletown ― Blue Pearl Pet Hospital, 311 Veterans Highway; Middletown Senior Center, 2142 Trenton Road; and Carl Sandburg Middle School, Heartwood Turn ― with shuttle service provided by Woods Services.

Trunk or Treat at Quakertown Fall Festival

Quakertown will hold its Fall Festival and Trunk or Treat 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday at Park Avenue and Fourth Street. Children's wristbands, sold for $5 on Eventbright or at Borough Hall, allow for unlimited hayrides, moon bounces and other fun activities. Dress up for the costume contest. Adults admitted free with child. Proceeds benefit free programming by the borough Parks and Recreation Department. For more information, visit the borough website.

Dress like a 'superhero' in Doylestown

Doylestown Health will host a Superhero Dog Festival 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday on the grounds of Doylestown Hospital, 595 W. State St., the health system announced. Rain date is Oct. 21.

The festival will celebrate human/dog partnerships and how dogs contribute to their humans' "happiness and health." The event will showcase the talent and abilities of service, therapy and competition dogs. The Central Bucks Regional Police Department K-9 Unit, Canine Emergency Search and Rescue 345 of the Volunteer Medical Service Corps of Lansdale, Roxy Therapy Dogs and others will participate. For safety reasons, "we cannot allow dogs from the public to be brought into the event," the health system noted. Humans can dress as dogs or superheroes.

Attendance is free but donations to the Bucks County SPCA and /or the New Britain Food Pantry are requested.

Historic Bristol to host a full day of activities

Bristol Borough will hold its Historic Bristol Day festival 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 21, showcasing its ties to the Delaware River with an antique and classic boat show, and a visit by the 75-foot schooner North Wind, that will offer four one-hour river rides to guests who want to take the scenic tour.

A tour of the town's murals, including the latest one on Market Street showcasing Bristol's history as an early American port, will be held at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. beginning at the Bristol Riverside Theatre. House tours will also be offered as well as a tour of the Margaret R. Grundy Museum, where artwork by Bristol artists will be on display on the lawn.

An archaeological dig at the Bristol Friends Meeting House will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. conducted by archaeologist Jesse Walker. A car show will take place at the Snyder-Girotti School, 450 Beaver St. There will be a wide variety of musical acts. Children's activities will include facepainting, a stilt walker and balloon artist on Radcliffe Street and the giveaway of books at the Grundy Library by Cops 'n Kids, Delaware Valley Chapter. Olde Langhorne Harvest Day on its way

Langhorne Borough will host its annual Olde Langhorne Harvest Day 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 28 at Maple and Bellevue avenues. Crafters, children's activities, music and food will make for a merry time. The event is sponsored by the Langhorne Borough Business Association and the First National Bank and Trust Co. of Newtown. Halloween Drive-thru in New Britain

The Central Bucks Regional Police Foundation will host a Halloween Drive-Thru Hullabaloo 1 to 3 p.m. Oct. 29 in the parking lot of the Fluehr Funeral Home, 241 E. Butler Ave., New Britain. Wear costumes, decorate your vehicle and drive through a Candyland forest to trick-or-treat along the way! The event is sponsored by Fred Beans Automotive Group.

'Tis harvest season at Snipes Farm

The frightfully fun fall season has begun at multiple sites throughout Bucks County, including Snipes Farm outside Morrisville where its multi-weekend Fall Festival is now taking place.

The festival is being held in partnership with the Lower Bucks County Chamber of Commerce and the networking site, Mommy’s Lil’ Black Book. It will be held every weekend in October.

Sample hearty food and delicacies from 10 food trucks as other activities will include dozens of vendors, crafts, face-painting and moon bounces. And there will be the traditional scavenger hunts, tractor and wagon rides, Belgian horse wagon rides, pumpkin picking, the Land of the Scarecrows, the Straw Pyramid (a big climb up), the Straw-Bale Maze, as well as gentle farm animals, flower picking, fresh cider and donuts, and a tour along the Nature Trail.

Harvest Festival at Hortulus Farm

Hortulus Farm in Wrightstown announced it is hosting a month-long Harvest Festival, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., every Saturday and Sunday throughout October.

The colorful fall festival includes family-friendly activities, pumpkin picking and food vendors. The farm, which also has gardens and an extensive nursery, is located at 60 Thompson Mill Road.

Grover Silcox in one-man show

The Gypsy Stage Co. will present "Edgar Allan Poe and the Flip Side of Comedy," 7:30 p.m. Oct. 21 and 28, and 2 p.m. Oct. 22 and 29 at the McCool's Arts & Events Place, 10 S. Main St., Quakertown. 'Rocky Horror Show' at Bucks County Playhouse

Actor, producer and reality star, Frankie Grande, will head the cast of an all-new production of “Richard O’Brien’s The Rocky Horror Show” at Bucks County Playhouse Oct. 13-28.

The playhouse notes that the production will get a complete overhaul in 2023 with new sets, lighting, costumes and choreography.

“There’s a long tradition of producing the ‘The Rocky Horror Show’ at Bucks County Playhouse and it is, without a doubt, one of my favorite times of the year,” says producer Josh Fiedler. "There’s little question why ‘Rocky Horror’ continues to lure audiences back every year.”

Create a pumpkin at Tile Works

The Tile Works of Bucks County at the Moravian Pottery & Tile Works, 130 E. Swamp Road, in Doylestown, invites visitors to work with local Bucks County clay and create a lidded pumpkin pot from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Oct. 12. Instructor Julianna Lange guides in the creation of jack-o-lanterns in the historic tile studio.  Pots will be fired by the TileWorks and be ready for Halloween. Autumn Alive! Fall Festival in Quakertown

Running from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., on Oct. 21, the Autumn Alive! fall festival focuses on fun and furry friends. The Broad Street Pet Parade is always a family favorite. There is also going to be a cupcake baking competition. Along with crafters and businesses, pet rescue organizations will line Broad Street from 4th Street to Hellertown Avenue and down Branch Street. There will be plenty of family fun to enjoy children’s activities, live entertainment all day on two stages, food court, Authors Corner, and guests of age can enjoy samples of beer and wine in the beer garden.

Boo at Bolton: Food Truck Fest & Trick-or-Treat

The Historic Bolton Mansion is hosting an additional festival in the fall, but this one is making the mansion "haunted." On Oct. 21, guests are invited to come in their Halloween costumes and can enjoy balloon art, face painting, knockerball, also known as bubble soccer, a DJ, bubble foam pit, stuffed animal making, trick-or-treating, and a ghost-tour of the mansion with plenty of food and snacks available.

The activities are kid-friendly and runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 85 Holly Drive in Levittown.
