- John Higgins leads title-holder and favourite Mark Selby 10-7 in the World Championship final after Sunday's first two session. Selby, bidding to win his third world title, found himself 6-2 down going into the night session at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield. The four-time champions Higgins extended that to 10-4 before Selby, renowned as a tough competitor won the final three frames to cut the gap in the best of 35-frame showdown to three with a maximum of 18 to be played on Monday. It was an impressive start from the 41-year-old Higgins, bidding to become the oldest world champion since snooker great Ray Reardon won the last of his six titles aged 45 in 1978. The Scot won the last of his four world crowns six years ago.
