A new brunch restaurant has announced an opening date, along with plans to give back to the community, according to a company news release.

Snooze, an A.M. Eatery, will officially open the doors at 413 University Ave. at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 29. The business, which began in Denver in 2006, has expanded to more than 50 locations across 10 states.

The Lubbock location can seat 118 people inside the 4,000 sq. ft. dining space. It also has 49 seats on a semi-enclosed, covered patio. Hours will be 6:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. on weekdays and from 6:30 a.m.-4 p.m. on weekends.

Prior to the March 29 opening, the restaurant will have a series of "Grow to Give" soft openings, which will raise funds for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Southwest and the South Plains Food Bank, along with the Snooze Compass Foundation. The Compass Foundation provides emergency grants to Snooze employees.

"We’re thrilled to continue growing in Texas — already our biggest market — with our Lubbock location, which will be a great fit for Snooze," said David Birzon, Snooze CEO. "As a mission-driven company, we look at growth not only in terms of opening more restaurants, but also in expanding our culture and ability to give back to new communities by partnering with amazing local organizations for our pre-opening weekend."

Snooze's menu includes pancakes, Benedicts, breakfast sandwiches, omelets and breakfast tacos. There are plant-based meals and gluten-free options. The restaurant prides itself on using "cage-free eggs, antibiotic and hormone-free meats from animals who do not experience confinement, and products that do not contain any EDTA, synthetic dyes, carrageenan, or any other offenders from Snooze’s lengthy 86’d ingredients list," according to the release.

Snooze also offers morning cocktails, local beers and spiced coffees.

People can reserve a spot on the waitlist, order takeout or delivery, and sign up for the MySnooze Bennyfits loyalty program at snoozeeatery.com. The Lubbock location's phone number is 806-412-1970. Snooze can also be found on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
