When will the snow become rain in Hagerstown, Chambersburg areas?
Snow in the Tri-State area Wednesday is expected to change to other forms of precipitation around lunchtime with the afternoon commute possibly being slushy, according to the National Weather Service.
For Washington County and West Virginia's Eastern Panhandle, the snow is anticipated to turn to rain around noon or 1 p.m., said meteorologist Luis Rosa with the Baltimore/Washington forecast office.

For southern Franklin County, Pa., the snow is forecast to change to a mix of rain, snow and sleet around 1 p.m., said meteorologist Nicholas Beaty with the State College forecast office. Then the precipitation is forecast to become a mix of rain and sleet between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. before becoming primarily rain after 2, he said.
Interstate 70 closed for tractor-trailer rollover
Westbound Interstate 70 is closed starting just east of Md. 63 (Greencastle Pike) due to a tractor trailer that overturned during the snowstorm, Maryland State Police said. Around noon, state police were waiting for a heavy-duty truck to arrive to remove the tractor-trailer so lanes could be reopened.
No injuries were reported from the tractor-trailer incident, which was called in at 11:06 a.m., a Washington County 911 supervisor said.
Are schools closing because of the snow?
"If WCPS decides to close early due to the weather, we will inform our learning community through our official communications channels," which include Herald-Mail Media, Washington County Public Schools spokeswoman Erin Anderson texted.
There could be some slush on roads during the afternoon commute, weather service officials said.
The snow was coming down at a heavier rate in far western Washington County, maybe around 1.5 inches an hour in the Hancock area, Rosa said around 11:15 a.m.
The Greencastle and Waynesboro areas could end up with an inch of snow or slightly lower, Beaty said.

The rain in Washington County and the Eastern Panhandle will probably stop by 7 p.m. Wednesday, Rosa said.
For southern Franklin County, the rain is expected to stop around midnight or a little later, Beaty said.
Expect a windy Thursday in the Tri-State area
As the storm leaves the area, winds will pick up Wednesday night into Thursday in the Tri-State area, according to weather service meteorologists.
Sustained winds are expected to be around 20 mph to 30 mph in the local Maryland, West Virginia area late Thursday morning into early evening with gusts up to 40 mph, Rosa said.
In southern Franklin County, Beaty said sustained winds could reach 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph. Thursday is expected to be windier in the morning through late afternoon.
