PennDOT removes speed restrictions on highways in central Pa.
Update at 3:45 p.m.: PennDOT has lifted the speed limit restrictions on all of the roadways in south central Pennsylvania, according to a news release.
Reported earlier:
Snow is falling in central Pennsylvania, and speed restrictions now are in place on major roadways, including Interstate 83 and Route 30.
The National Weather Service is calling for up to an inch of snow with a light ice glaze for York County. Forecasters are predicting one to three inches of snow with a light glaze of ice for Lebanon County.
The wintry weather isn't expected to last long as meteorologists predict that it will change over to all rain this afternoon.

As of now, the state Department of Transportation has reduced the speed limit to 45 m.p.h. on the following roads:
Interstate 81
Interstate 83
Interstate 283
Route 15
Route 22
Route 30
Route 222
Route 283
Route 322
Route 581
PennDOT crews are out treating the roads. The agency is asking the public not to drive in the inclement weather unless necessary.
