Snow in forecast for Maryland Eastern Shore

The Eastern Shore could see the first snow of the season this week.

The National Weather Service's Wednesday forecast for the Salisbury area shows a 70% chance of precipitation, with the possibility of snow beginning early and continuing throughout the day.

Snow will likely begin before 10 a.m., becoming a combination of rain and snow between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., with more snow expected after 4 p.m., according to the forecast. The daytime high is predicted to be about 39 degrees.

The NWS anticipates snow accumulation in the area to be less than half an inch.

Similarly, Salisbury's AccuWeather forecast for Wednesday predicts a coating of up to an inch of snow starting at 4 a.m. and ending around 4 p.m.

NWS forecasts show residents in Worcester and Somerset counties may also see some snowy weather Wednesday.

Ocean City has a 70% chance of precipitation, with rain likely in the morning and then mixing with snow between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. Little to no snow accumulation is expected in the area.

Rain and snow are also likely for inland Worcester County, according to the NWS, with highs around 40 degrees during the day.

The county-wide forecast for Somerset shows rain and snow are possible in the early evening, with Princess Anne predicted to see a mix of rain and snow during the day that becomes all snow after 4 p.m.

On Virginia's Eastern Shore, there's a chance of snow early in the morning and then late in the day for Accomack County. But as of Monday afternoon, there's no snow in the forecast for Northampton County.
