Snow is in the forecast for Thursday. Here's a look at parking bans from across Newport Co.

It may not be much, but towns in Newport County are beginning to prepare for some predicted snowfall.

According to the National Weather Service, rain and snow are expected to fall across the area before 2 p.m., then a chance of snow between 2 and 4 p.m. with temperatures falling to around 30 by 5 p.m. Northwest wind 7 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.

Approximately 1 to 2 inches of snow is expected.

While the snow isn't expected to continue into Thursday night it will be cold with a low around 13 and wind chill values as low as -1.

PORTSMOUTH

A parking ban has been put in place from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday.

TIVERTON

A parking ban will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
