Snow on Halloween? Weather forecast for Columbus area shows chance of evening snow showers
Are you taking your kids out trick-or-treating in Columbus on Tuesday? If so, you may want to bundle them up because the forecast shows a cold – and possibly snowy – holiday.
Here's what the weather will be like on Halloween:
Forecast for Halloween: Expect scattered snow showers
The weather in Columbus for Halloween will be mostly sunny during the day with a high near 44 degrees, according to the National Weather Service Wilmington office.

However, NWS is warning that Tuesday evening could see scattered snow showers, mainly between 7 p.m. and 2 a.m., with a low of 28 degrees and snow accumulation of less than a half-inch possible.
Luckily for trick-or-treaters, that estimated 7 p.m. start time comes right after the event ends for most people in Franklin County (with most municipalities in the area ending their Halloween festivities at 7 p.m.).

When does it typically snow for the first in Columbus?
NWS has been keeping weather records in Columbus since 1885.
The earliest measurable snow in the state's capital came Oct. 10, 1906. The latest first measurable snowfall was Jan. 10, 2016.
As for winter's end, the latest measurable snow ever in Columbus was May 9, 1923, with the earliest final snowfall on Feb. 16, 1997.
