This first potential snow event across northern Ohio is shaping up to be disruptive, but not likely one for the record books.

It looks like the farther east you travel, the more snow you will see, with Youngstown now in the bulls-eye.

For now, the weather service is saying "accumulating snow" is possible across all of northern Ohio on Sunday night into Monday.

Heaviest snow will likely be over the Appalachians, but forecasters say the potential for accumulating snow in the Greater Cleveland-Akron area has been increasing. Counties in southern and eastern Ohio into Pennsylvania have the greatest chance of seeing heavy snow.

What remains unknown is the storm's final track, the exact western edge of accumulating snow, how much snow will fall and the amount of lake effect snow that could follow.

Temperatures will get colder over the weekend. Friday's high temperatures will be in the low to mid-30s. Saturday could be the calm before the storm with cloudy skies and temperatures in the 20s.

The temperatures are not expected to rebound above freezing until Wednesday, with a possible high that day in the upper 30s.

Another round of wintry weather is predicted for midweek with cooler temperatures possibly on tap.
