Winter weather advisory issued for Columbus as snow moves in Thursday night
While temperatures are soon going to be climbing in central Ohio, it won't be above freezing before the potential for snowfall in the region.
Forecasts show the potential for snow beginning Thursday evening and continuing into Friday. The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory that will begin at 5 p.m. Thursday and last through 1 a.m. Saturday.
Temperatures will reach highs in the teens and 20s through Sunday but be above freezing by Monday.
How much snow will Columbus get?
As much as two to four inches of snow accumulation is expected in central Ohio before the weekend.
About one inch of snow is expected to accumulate on Thursday night with another one to two inches possible early Friday morning.
The timing of the snow may cause traffic issues on Friday morning, as well as potential school closures or delays.

The snow is likely to start around 10 p.m. Thursday, according to forecasts.
The snow is expected to continue through the day on Friday and end by Saturday.

What's the weather forecast?
Thursday night: A 70% chance of snow showers starting around 10 p.m. As much as an inch of snowfall accumulation is possible.
Friday: Snowfall expected with accumulation possible of about an inch. High will be in mid-20s with winds between 10 and 20 mph.
Friday night: Temperatures will be in the single digits.
Saturday: Temperatures will top out around 20 but winds will be between 10 and 15 mph, making it a cold day.
Sunday: Partly sunny, with a high near 23.
Monday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 37.
Tuesday: Rain possible, with a 40% chance of precipitation. High near 40.
Wednesday: High of 44 with a 50% chance of rain.
