Snow-related parking bans, closures and cancelations for Greater New Bedford

In true New England fashion, winter delivered up a late February snowstorm resulting in school cancellations and delays. Snow is expected to taper off this morning according to the National Weather Service in Boston, snow will end before 11 a.m., then turn to rain. Temperatures will reach a high near 38. East wind 8 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph.

According to a trained weather spotter, New Bedford had snow totals of 4 inches as of 6:59 a.m.

In Greater New Bedford, the following parking bans, closures, and cancellations have been announced regarding the snowstorm:

A Winter Weather Advisory will be in effect from 9 p.m. Monday night through 7 p.m. Tuesday, as southeastern Massachusetts gears up for a late winter storm.

Parking bans

DARTMOUTH: Parking ban will be in effect from 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 27, through 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28. No parking on the hydrant side of the street; if no hydrants, park on the even house numbered side.

Delays

NEW BEDFORD: Project Beacon will be delaying the start of testing on Tuesday, Feb. 28 to 11 a.m. instead of 8 a.m. and will end at 4 p.m. Anyone with questions should reach out directly to Project Beacon at help@beacontesting.com or 617-741-7310.

DARTMOUTH: Solid Waste/Recycling pick-up scheduled for Tuesday, February 28, 2023, is canceled. Pick-up will be a one day delay for the remainder of the week.
