SAM CHAMPION: Table is set for snow, because we've got this cold air, as Sandra mentioned, in place. These are our windchills, anywhere from 15 to 22 degrees. It feels like 23 in Laguardia right now. 19 degrees in Islip. And we still have that strong Northwestern wind.

Here's our winter storm watch. This really takes effect tomorrow morning, before the sun comes up, and then goes all the way through Friday at about 4 o'clock in the afternoon. Winter storm warnings are further down to the South of us. They start around Delaware, go all the way to Washington DC.

27 degrees in Central Park by the time we get to about 12:30, so this is the real temperature, this is how cold that air is. Let's move that moisture in. It starts in Western areas first, just before about 6 o'clock in the morning. We'll start to see the first snowflakes in northern New Jersey, central New Jersey, it'll get toward the five boroughs about that same time, about 25 degrees. This begins to stick immediately, because the air has been so cold overnight. So the first flakes stay on the pavement, they stay on the sidewalk, they stay on the roads, and it starts collecting after that.

Look at the dark banding of snow that moves through by about 11 o'clock in the morning. This is some very heavy snow, difficult to drive in, but you're going to notice one thing already. It's lighter in northern areas, and there is a little area of mixing down to the South. So as we go into big weather, I'm going to explain both of those. And it's not going to change our totals, because we still feel pretty solid on the totals that we laid down in the area. Some of the models are still continuing with some light snow coming in on Friday.

So this would be the heavier zone of snow. We'll explain why this is lighter and that is lighter when we come back in just a moment.
