Snowville Elementary holds virtual learning day after water pump breaks

PULASKI COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – The Pulaski County Schools Superintendent, Robert Graham, has announced that Snowville Elementary School will conduct classes virtually on Wednesday, Feb 28, to repair a damaged well water pump.

Around 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, the elementary school’s well water pump suddenly broke. School officials say that students and staff had enough reserve water to finish the day, but the pump will need to be repaired.

As a result, the maintenance department will install a new pump by the end of the day on Wednesday; however, there will be no running water at the facility during that time.

On Wednesday, Feb 28, students who attend Snowville Elementary will be expected to attend class virtually. Classes will then resume in-person learning on Thursday, February 29.

This does not affect any other schools in the Pulaski County School Division. Officials say if there are any further changes to the schedule after Wednesday, February 28, notifications will be sent out at that time.
