SOCCER: San Angelo Central girls wrap up tourney with 1-0 shutout

The San Angelo Central High School girls soccer team shut out A&M Consolidated 1-0 in the Lady Cats' final game at the Governors Cup at the East View High field on Saturday.

Sofia Meador-Safont scored the game's only goal.

Addie Harkleroad was in goal for the Lady Cats.

Central improved to 4-3-0.

The Lady Cats will host former district rival Waco Midway at 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 21, at Old Bobcat Stadium.

The San Angelo Central Bobcats dropped their final game at the Governors Cup in Georgetown on Saturday.

Dylan Marburger converted a penalty kick earned by Chase Miller to knot the score at 1-1 heading into halftime.

Boyd scored the game-winning goal off a corner kick in the second half.

Central (0-4-3) wraps up its nondistrict schedule against Lubbock Coronado at 7 p.m. Tuesday at San Angelo Stadium.

Soccer: Lake View boys light up scoreboard in season-opening shutout

Decatur 2, Lake View boys 0

The Lake View Chiefs got shut out in their second game of the Alvarado Tournament on Friday.

The Chiefs opened the tourney with a 3-1 loss against the host team on Thursday. Tyler Dunn scored Lake View's goal.

Saturday's games were canceled due to inclement weather.

Lake View (2-2-1) will host Brownwood in another nondistrict match at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Old Bobcat Stadium.
