According to Forbes' annual list, French soccer star Kylian Mbappé is already the third-highest paid athlete on the planet, earning $120 billion per year—but the latest reported contract offer for the 24-year-old footballer could completely shatter that mark.

According to multiple reports on Monday, Saudi Pro League club Al Hilal has submitted a record bid of more than $332 million to acquire Mbappé from his current club, Paris Saint-Germain, $70 million more than PSG’s $262 million effort to acquire Neymar from Barcelona in 2017. In addition, Al Hilal intends to propose a ridiculous annual salary package of up to $776 million for the player.

The proposed offer surfaced just two weeks after a New York Times report that the striker informed PSG in a letter he would not renew his contract with the team when it expires in June 2024. Although ESPN reported Mbappé is not interested in Al Hilal's offer, PSG has granted the team permission to negotiate directly with the player.

With Mbappé's soccer future now grabbing media attention, let's take a look at his already massive net worth and how this contract offer compares to that of other famous athletes.

What Is Kylian Mbappé's Net Worth?

Mbappé is currently valued at around $180 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth.

Unsurprising given his talent—Mbappé recorded a hat trick in the 2022 World Cup final and has scored at least 30 goals in the last five seasons—he has earned much of that from his playing salary. According to the Associated Press, the Frenchman first joined PSG in 2017 in a transfer from Monaco worth around $190 million. After considering a departure in the summer of 2022, he signed a three-year deal worth $223 million to remain with that club, according to Fox Sports.

In addition to his on-field pay, Mbappé has lucrative partnerships with Nike, Hublot, and Oakley. According to The U.S. Sun, Mbappé signed a 10-year deal with Nike in 2019 worth at least £14 million—or roughly $18.7 million—per year.

Mbappé's Offer Is Unquestionably High

Al Hilal's speculated offer for Mbappé completely towers over the yearly—and even career—earnings of other sports stars.

Take basketball great LeBron James, who was fourth on Forbes' list of the highest-paid athletes. The four-time NBA MVP has made only $531 million in playing salary over his 20 seasons in the league, meaning Mbappé would easily outearn him in just 12 months. James humorously shared a GIF of the titular character from the 1994 film Forrest Gump to illustrate how quickly he would embrace a similar offer.

Mbappé could also earn more money by himself than the 15 highest-paid NFL quarterbacks—including Patrick Mahomes, Aaron Rodgers, Justin Herbert, and Jalen Hurts—combined (around $660 million) in the upcoming season.

Even among his soccer peers, Mbappé would easily reign supreme. According to The Sporting News, Cristiano RonaldoForbes' highest-paid athlete—is earning around $213 million per year in his lucrative deal with fellow Saudi Pro League club Al Nassr. No. 2 Lionel Messi is believed to be making only $50 million to $60 million in his new contract with MLS team Inter Miami, plus profits from rights deals with Apple and Adidas.
