Ashley Grayson and her husband, Joshua Grayson, became a well-known social media couple for their content and online businesses. However, things turned out differently for the pair after they were indicted on charges of a federal murder-for-hire scheme.

According to Atlanta Black Star, the federal indictment was filed on June 29 in the United States District Court for the Western District of Tennessee. The complaint states the Graysons reportedly contacted someone and paid them to murder another person.

The hitman’s name was omitted from the complaint, and it lists only the initials D.H. for the potential victim. However, investigators determined the Graysons were in contact with someone to carry out the murder between Aug. 26, 2022, and Sept. 11, 2022, per the outlet.

Black Enterprise reported Ashley founded her online business, Digital Course Recipe, and earned $1 million in sales after launching the course. Her story inspired other online users to follow in her footsteps as entrepreneurs with successful businesses.

Joshua shared a video of the couple’s lavish wedding proposal in April to his Instagram account. The engagement party was on a yacht in Miami, with R&B singer Monica performing at the joyous event.

“On this date I chose to surprise you with a experience you won’t ever forget. 💍” Joshua wrote in the post’s caption.

As the couple continued to showcase their luxurious lifestyle on social media, their legal woes began in 2022 when Ashley was accused of scamming online customers with her digital course. According to reports, she received $1 million from losing a finger at her job rather than from online sales.

The same year, Ashley filed a lawsuit against financial coach Derricka Harwell. She claimed Harwell left a comment on one of her Facebook posts that was “false, defamatory and injurious.” The complaint states Harwell’s stalking and harassment claims ruined Ashley’s reputation
“online and around the world,” per Atlanta Black Star.

The Graysons face up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine if convicted.
