The Cincinnati Bengals and Los Angeles Rams met Wednesday in their first joint practice since meeting in Super Bowl 56, ahead of the third and final preseason game for both teams Saturday at Paycor Stadium.
Bengals head coach Zac Taylor and Rams head coach Sean McVay, who worked together for the Rams before Taylor left for Cincinnati in 2019, made it clear earlier in the week that they didn't want any fights during the joint practices.
The Bengals made it clear during Wednesday's practice that they didn't want Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald putting his hands on Cincinnati quarterback Joe Burrow.
It was also the first practice for safety Jessie Bates III, who missed several weeks of training camp before agreeing to sign the franchise tag.

Two wow, physical catches for a touchdown by Kendric Pryor with the second team. He’s winning his matchups today.
Jake Browning has been the QB on a bunch of those throws.— Charlie Goldsmith (@CharlieG__) August 24, 2022
Jalen Ramsey, playing zone coverage over the middle, has made two incredible plays near the goal line to wipe away touchdowns.
Ramsey is the most versatile defender in the NFL, and he’s showing some unique challenges to the Bengals.— Charlie Goldsmith (@CharlieG__) August 24, 2022
A fun wrinkle to today’s practice. Zac Taylor is watching the Bengals defense. Brian Callahan is calling plays for the offense.

It’s been a really efficient start for the Bengals offense in 11s. Joe Burrow is throwing the ball around, finding Hayden Hurst for consistent pickups and Tyler Boyd for a big gain.

Watched this happen also. My take on this was more about Jessie’s future https://t.co/i5Ftm7zacY

Really cool moment at practice when #Bengals CB Chidobe Awuzie was in 1 on 1 coverage against Cooper Kupp, Chido broke the pass up and Kupp complemented him immediately after

If practice today was any indication, nothing has changed in the left guard position battle.
Cordell Volson got all the reps today. You didn’t really notice him, which is exactly the consistency they’re looking for.— Charlie Goldsmith (@CharlieG__) August 24, 2022
