Social media reacts to Geno Auriemma testing positive for COVID-19 before NCAA Tournament

As UConn women’s basketball team prepares for the NCAA Tournament in San Antonio, head coach Geno Auriemma tested positive for COVID-19.

Auriemma, 66, is “feeling well,” per a UConn statement, and is isolating at home. The Hall of Famer received his second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine on March 10, though CDC guidelines state that it takes 14 days following the second shot to become fully vaccinated. He will remain in isolation for 10 days and can rejoin the team on March 24.

Here’s how social media reacted to the news.
