Social media reacts to Robert Runcie’s arrest

The arrest of Broward County School Superintendent Robert Runcie sparked debate across social media on Wednesday.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement arrested Runcie on a perjury charge and general counsel Barbara Myrick on a charge of unlawful disclosure of statewide grand jury proceedings.

Runcie’s name quickly trended on Twitter, as people ranging from Parkland parents to activists responded to the news with calls for accountability. Many of them have held Runcie responsible for the shooting that killed 17 staff and students at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.
