Social media videos show tornado funnel, damage in Johnson County

Videos have surfaced online showing the damage wrought by a tornado that hit Johnson County, Indiana, south of Indianapolis, on Sunday afternoon.

Significant damage to property in Greenwood can be seen in videos shared on social media, including flattened buildings and toppled trees.

Videos also show hail in other parts of Indiana.

Footage captured by Kirk Giglio shows lofted debris near Stones Crossing Road.

Another video captured by Eric Ford shows a funnel touching the ground and debris swept up by strong winds around Stones Crossing.

Footage by Luke Hatton shows a tornado sweeping through New Whiteland.

There have also been reports of hailstones about 2" in diameter, as seen in a photo shared by Danny McQuinn in Kirklin, Indiana.

Hailstones can also be seen pelting down in a livecam video in French Lick, Indiana, that was shared by a digital storm chaser.

Another video shared by Kirk Giglio shows the base of a supercell — storms containing rotating updrafts — passing over Shelbyville.

A funnel can be seen in a video taken by a Door Dash driver around 4:20 p.m. near Tracy Road in Whiteland.
