After their comeback bid came up short the day prior, the Amarillo Sod Poodles bounced back in a big way Wednesday afternoon.

Amarillo compiled 14 hits as a team and scored six runs in the sixth inning to earn a come-from-behind victory over the Springfield Cardinals on Wednesday, 9-4.

Amarillo is now back above .500 at 15-14.

After the Cardinals drew first blood in the opening inning on a home run, the Sod Poodles tied it up on Jorge Barrosa's sacrifice fly to score Dominic Fletcher in the second.

The Cards looked like they'd be repeating Tuesday's performance after a three-run performance in the third inning to go up 4-1. Amarillo wouldn't let the Cards get the win this time, however, as they rattled off six runs in the sixth with Jancarlos Cintron's home run putting the finishing touches on the inning and putting the Sod Poodles up 7-4.

Amarillo added runs in the eighth and ninth inning to give the game its final score. The ninth inning run came on Leandro Cedeno's eighth home run of the year.

The two squads will face off again at 6:35 p.m. Thursday, 6:35 p.m. Friday, 6:05 p.m. Saturday and 6:35 p.m. Sunday.

Jancarlos Cintron's RBI double scored Matt Koperniak to start the inning off before Eduardo Diaz's three-run homer made it a two score game. Andy Yerzy's solo home run brought Amarillo within one, but the Cards got the outs they needed to take the victory.
