Saturday night's game got off to a rough start and it only got worse from there for the Amarillo Sod Poodles.
Amarillo fell behind by four runs early and gave up six runs in in the seventh to the San Antonio Missions. It all amounted to a one-sided, 11-2 loss. The Sod Poodles are now 30-32 on the season.
After giving up a run in the first inning and three more in the third, the Sod Poodles finally got a run on the board in the fourth. Eduardo Diaz's RBI single to score Corbin Carroll made it 4-1 and gave the Soddies a spark of hope.
It wasn't meant to be. The Missions scored one run in the fifth and added six runs in the seventh to go up 11-1. Corbin Carroll did manage to add a solo home run in the ninth inning, but that was all Amarillo could muster.
