There was a lot of laughter at Sodt Elementary Friday as Principal Tara Roe was having slime dumped all over her by 38 students.

Preschoolers, Young 5's, kindergarten and first graders who attend Sodt Elementary and Early Childhood Center of Jefferson Public Schools took part in a cookie dough fundraiser at the school. The students who sold more than $200 were able to slime Roe.

“I would do anything for our kids at Sodt. They worked so hard to reach the goal and raise money, being slimed is the least I can do,” Roe said.

“I picked slime for something different,” she said with a laugh in a text message. “I’ve slept on the roof, been silly stringed, pies thrown in my face, so why not slime?”

The proceeds from the cookie dough fundraiser, which took place in October and November, went for physical education equipment, field trips and assemblies.

The top selling class was Mary Bezeau’s 4-year-old preschool class, which will have a pizza party and recess with Roe.

Kindergartner Camila Perna's name was drawn to receive the Jefferson Recreation Center pass.  Any student who sold more than 10 items had their name entered into the drawing.

The top seller of the fundraiser was kindergartner Hayden Kochanski, who will have lunch with the principal and a friend.

“This was amazing,” Roe said. “I love to support my students!”
