BRONSON — Bronson senior co-captain and starting catcher Jadyn Cary has been awarded another post season honor for her work on the softball diamond in 2022, earning a spot on the Michigan High School Softball Coaches Association (MHSSCA) Division Three All-State Team.

For Cary this is her second straight MHSSCA All-State First Team honor, also being named to the Division Three All-State First Team in 2021.

Cary was one of three catchers to earn Division Three First Team All State honors this season, joining Trinity Fessler of the state championship team from Millington and Macy Verbeek of Calvin.

Cary herself had a year for the ages, earning numerous post season awards including Big 8 Conference Most Valuable Player and Most Valuable Player of The Daily Reporter Dream Team.

Cary was one of the most important pieces to the Big 8 champion Vikings success this season, leading at the plate and behind it with tremendous offense, solid defense and even better leadership.

For the season, Cary finished having played in every game for the Vikings where she batted a robust .382 for the year, recording 29 hits in 76 at-bats, a number that included 18 singles and 11 doubles with 18 Rbis, 11 walks and 20 runs scored compared to only seven strikeouts for the year.

Behind the plate from her catcher position is where Cary made her biggest mark, serving as the captain of a very stingy Viking defense. Cary recorded 175 put outs in 189 chances with 13 assists from behind the plate, finishing with a fielding percentage of .995 as she committed only a single error all season long.
