Soldiers in the frontline Ukrainian city of Avdiivka launched a giant Ukrainian flag into the air on the country’s Independence Day on Wednesday, August 24.
Footage posted by the Avdiivka Military-Civilian Administration shows a group of people in military garb holding a large yellow and blue flag attached to number of inflated balloons. They let the flag go and it rises into the air. Some applaud, whistle and cheer as others shout “Glory to Ukraine.”
Avdiivka is located in the frontline of a slow Russian advance in Donetsk Oblast.
