Anti-military protesters took to the streets in Khartoum, Sudan, on Sunday, November 21, after Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok was reinstated following his arrest by the nation’s military in a coup on October 25.

Hamdok reportedly signed a deal with military leaders on November 21 to head a temporary government of civilian technocrats, angering some demonstrators who protested against any military involvement in governing and demanded power be returned to the people of Sudan, reports said.

Aljazeera reported Hamdok said Sudan would hold elections “before July 2023.”
