The Paints, who improved to 24-10 on the season, plated two runs in the first inning on a pair of RBI from Jeron Williams and Ben Gbur. Chillicothe pushed the lead to 3-0 in the fifth when Anthony Steele scored on a wild pitch.

After the Pistol Shrimp (24-12) scored an unearned run in the bottom of the sixth inning to cut the deficit to 3-1, the Paints scored an unearned run in the seventh to push their lead back to three runs. Illinois Valley hit a solo home run in the seventh inning to cut the margin to 4-2.

In the top of the ninth inning, the Paints scored a pair of insurance runs when Steele blasted a two-run home run.

Williams had a big night at the plate by going 3-for-4 with an RBI. Steele finished with one hit and two RBI and reached base four times by walking three times and scored three runs. Owen Wilson had a double, scored a run and walked three times while Cameron Bowen went 2-for-5, including a double.
