Solskjaer wants fan who allegedly made racist gestures banned from football grounds

"Yeah Fred and Jesse (Lingard) were in the corner taking a corner and I've the seen the video. Heard from the boys. We keep talking about it every bloody week. Sorry. But he's been caught on camera, he should in my opinion never be allowed into a football ground again. And I've seen the video. Unacceptable so I'm sure the city and the authorities will deal it because that's - we keep as I've said, we keep talking about it every week and it doesn't stop unless it'll have consequences."

"I think I support the statement the club has done. So hopefully we are going to solve and hopefully avoid it again and don't happen again. And I'm pretty sure the club and the policemen or whatever are going to take the right decision (so it) don't happen again. Of course it's a battle to fight everyday and everyday. So, unfortunately it happen in many places and hopefully it cannot happen again."

STORY: Manchester City are investigating a fan for alleged "racial gestures" made during the derby against Manchester United at the Etihad Stadium which the visitors won 2-1.

Television images circulating on social media showed a City fan making a gesture in front of United's Brazilian midfielder Fred.

"Manchester City FC are aware of a video circulating on social media which appears to show a supporter making racial gestures during the second half of the match against Manchester United this evening," the club said.

"Officials from the club are working with Greater Manchester Police in order to help them identify any individuals concerned and assist with their enquiries."

The club said they were also working with police to identify fans who threw objects on to the field when Fred was taking a corner in front of them.

Fred appeared to have been struck by at least one object.

"The club operates a zero tolerance policy regarding discrimination of any kind, and anyone found guilty of racial abuse will be banned from the club for life," added the City statement.
