Somalia Celebrates First-Ever World Cup Qualifier Win

Somalia won their first-ever FIFA World Cup qualifier on September 5, beating Zimbabwe 1-0 in a match played in Djibouti due to security concerns in Somalia.

Somalia are the joint lowest-ranked African soccer team, at 202nd in the global FIFA rankings. They stunned Zimbabwe, ranked 112th in the world, with a late header from Anwar Sidali Shakunda.
