Can Someone Please Explain Biden Beauty to Me?

With the election quickly approaching, it's more important than ever to register to vote if you haven't already and create voting plans and back-up plans (you can still vote in person if your mail-in ballot arrives late or has an error). It's also a great time to donate to the political campaigns and organizations you care deeply for. To further encourage that, an anonymous group of people in the beauty industry has gathered to create a brand that revolves around an unlikely influencer: Joe Biden.

You read that correctly: Biden Beauty, a Joe Biden-themed makeup brand, debuted online September 30. The brand is not officially tied to the Biden/Harris presidential campaign but does aim to raise money to support it. One hundred percent of the proceeds from its first product launch will be donated to the Democratic National Committee, which aids Democratic political candidates like Biden.

The brand's first and sole beauty product is the Biden Beat Makeup Sponge, a $20 blue sponge with pointed ends on either side and a deep groove in the middle for grip. It also sells a $46 Biden hoodie, a $15 tote bag that reads “America Is Beautiful,” and an $8 pack of Biden-themed buttons and stickers.

Like us, you're probably wondering: "Who the heck is in charge of this thing?" According to the brand, its founders are staying anonymous to keep the focus on voter participation, and in a statement, "What we can say is it’s a collective of beauty industry insiders supporting the Biden/Harris campaign."

Whoever it is that's backing this campaign, we can't fault them for wanting to amp-up voter participation. You can learn more about Biden Beauty and its products at bidenbeauty.com. You can learn more about the DNC and donate directly here. If you'd like to donate directly to the Biden/Harris campaign, you can do that here. Oh, and please register to vote before the deadline passes in your state and you can do that here.
