Somerset man charged with sexually assaulting sleeping woman

Three men have been charged in connection with a shooting that took place Friday on Easton Avenue, said Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Chief Vincent Sabo of the New Brunswick Police Department.

FRANKLIN (Somerset) – A 27-year-old Somerset man has been arrested and charged with a sexual assault that allegedly occurred last summer.

Antonio Galindo-Salazar was arrested Jan. 25 and charged with second-degree sexual assault, said Somerset County Prosecutor John McDonald.

According to McDonald, on June 20, 2022, a woman reported to authorities she was sexually assaulted in Franklin. The woman said she had been drinking alcohol at a home in Franklin and woke up in a bedroom to find Galindo-Salazar on top of her, McDonald said.

An investigation by the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Sex Crimes/Child Abuse Unit and detectives from the Franklin Township Police Department led to Galindo-Salazar’s arrest, McDonald said.

Galindo-Salazar was in the Somerset County Jail awaiting a detention hearing.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Sex Crimes Unit at 908-231-7100 or the Franklin Township Police Department at 732-873-5533.
